During Times of Uncertainty...

I had originally written up a more serious address to the Coronavirus situation; however, I realized everyone has had more than enough of that, myself included. Maybe that's a post for another time. Given the current situation though, I think it's fair to assume that something more positive and light-hearted is what the people need.

Right now, it might be nice to highlight some of the ways in which people have stepped up to the plate. It's times like these in which true character is put to the test, and I have seen a lot of impressive efforts made to creating the best situation possible. Social media has been overflowing with an outpour of support for others. There are people offering help to the elderly grocery shop, others who will babysit for working parents, restaurants -ones that will suffer financially from the health concerns- offering to feed kids reliant on school lunch... the list goes on. And I'm glad it does! While there are some who use the stress and panic of a situation like this to push negativity, there is a significant amount of good being done to overpower this effort. The Coronavirus, scary as it may be, has provided the human race with an opportunity to do good by one another. It's a long-awaited wake up call.

I think when we get into a routine, we often forget that there are people who are struggling on the daily. When something comes along

and shakes things up, it puts the spotlight on all the ways in which we can be there for one another. While I'm sure no one is thrilled that this is happening, it is a great opportunity to learn ways to band together in our families, communities and country. Let's not let it end once we all go back to work and life falls back into place. If there is anything I wish to see after Coronavirus has passed, it is for people to continue to be kind to one another...okay, and to keep washing their hands!
