Writing has been hard for me lately. And actually, a lot of things have been, so writing is in good company. To be inspired to get up in the morning, go for a walk, eat balanced meals, complete tasks at work, socialize with friends, and of course, write, can be a struggle at times, especially in a rut. In this case, "rut" is the euphemism I'd like to use in place of "depressed" because that word is a little heavier than the former.

I'm making a dedicated effort to yank myself out of the rut I've been stuck in, starting with writing. You may be thinking, of all the tasks above, writing seems to be the least important; You'd be correct. However, I've tried to force myself out of bed earlier, but I still can't seem to open my eyes without the sun shining in them first. I've canceled over half of the walks I had planned to take my dog on and have been cemented to the couch instead.

My breakfast plate over the past few days has consisted exclusively of Tiny Twist pretzels, because they're the only thing I can be bothered to "make" in the morning. And so on...

So, crawling out of my rut starts here, with writing, because anyone who is reading this (or at least, I can pretend is reading this) is now here to hold me accountable. And if there is one thing I refuse to do in this life, it's to let others down.

Over the next 10 days, I will be writing something on my blog each day. I don't have any plans for it yet. I'll post whatever feels right at the moment. At the end of the 10 days, I hope to have found myself starting to challenge myself in other ways. Baby steps are still steps. With that, welcome to "10 Days of Blogging About Whatever I Feel Like."
